About Katini

Katini is a Japanese-African singer songwriter based in New York. Katini has traveled the world performing for organizations, such as Forbes and the United Nations. Katini's love for music unfolded in  jazz, and has deeply influenced her tone and technique. Her soulful vocals can be heard on her upcoming EP. The body of work which will be released fall of this year will incorporate sounds from her cultural upbringing.  

Katini is also the founder of Katini Skin, a clean beauty brand available at Saks Fifth Avenue. Katini Skin is an ode to natural health and beauty practices she inherited through her upbringing across Japan, Africa and Australia. Katini Skin was created in partnership with Black Progress Matters and is deeply committed to positively impacting the planet and the community. 

Katini cares deeply about human rights issues worldwide and is dedicated to empowering her community with her voice. She is also an active board member of Black Progress Mattes, an organization working to change the color of the leadership across the united states.
